An Opportunity For Quantitative Research?
March 24, 2020Intellicast S3E14 – ESOMAR, Insights Association, Press Conferences, and Board Games
March 27, 2020Thanks for tuning in to this episode of Intellicast! In this episode, Brian Lamar and Producer Brian, talk a variety of topics and try to find stories that don’t have to do with the Coronavirus.
The guys start off the episode talking about the many different COVID-19 research and resources that the market research industry has put out over the last week.
Moving into the market research news, the guys touch on the recent S4 Capital 2019 results, as well as some statements made by Sir Martin Sorrell in a recent Sky News interview. They also touch on the announcement by the US Census that they were pausing field operations, and what the impact could be.
The guys then turn to some more fun topics. They give a few resources out there for people to check out while they are housebound, including the daily “Home Safari” by the Cincinnati Zoo. (You can watch on their YouTube page here.)
Brian Lamar also gives a recap of Sunday’s ESPN The Ocho special, including his favorite wacky sport of Marble Racing. This leads into a discussion of the daily press conference that the Ohio Governor gives, and how other TV channels seem to be filling up airtime.
This is followed up with a discussion about whether the Tokyo Olympics should be postponed (after we finished recording the announcement did come out about them being postponed).
In the final segment of the episode, Brian Lamar gives out some of the rescheduled dates for Quirks Chicago and IIeX, which leads to a discussion on if there was the same speaker line-up, would you attend a virtual conference.
This is a great episode to help you get through the lockdown!
Brian Lamar wrote a blog about COVID-19 and its impact on the market research industry. You can read it here.
