March 19, 2020The Sample Landscape: The Political Climate
March 23, 2020Thanks for tuning in to Intellicast! Today’s episode is a little different – Brian Lamar is joined virtually by Producer Brian. To kick off the episode, the guys discuss the latest news around COVID-19, including Greenbook’s projecting on the economic impact of the CPOVID-19 outbreak, WPP’s announcement for staff to work from home, and the MRBA announcement around financial support to market researchers impacted by the virus. The guys also discuss a round-up of polls on COVID-19 completed by FiveThirtyEight.
The guys also discuss some of the actions that have taken place across the country to try and curb the spread of the virus.
They then turn to some of the non-COVID-19 related market research news, including Jamie Baker-Prewitt’s new role at Burke, and a BuzzFeed report on Sensor Tower secretly harvesting internet activity through free VPN apps.
Brian then dives into what may be a controversial topic for some – the soliciting of votes for the GRIT report. The conversation stems from a LinkedIn post from the CEO of Protobrand, who shared a screenshot of an email he received asking him to vote for a specific company as the most innovative on the GRIT report. It led to a huge discussion on LinkedIn that you can read here.
Brian and Brian then give a quick recap of the town hall that the Insights Association put on last week around COVID-19 and the impact the industry was seeing. In the final segment of the episode, the guys have some fun and discuss some activities they have been doing while being at home. They also give some TV and movie recommendations for people to check out.
