Intellicast S3E20 – Susie Ribnik, Lincoln Merrihew, and Tyler Farmer

Intellicast

Welcome back to Intellicast! This is a different kind of episode. We are all aware the market research industry has been hit hard due to the global pandemic, with organizations initiating furloughs, pay-cuts, and even layoffs.

Everyone here at Intellicast knows what those affected by this are going through, and a little while back Brian Lamar put out an offer on LinkedIn for anyone who has had their job impacted by the pandemic, to come on Intellicast and get their name out there.

His post caught fire, and we had several people reach out. This episode is a first of several where we sit down with people from different levels of the industry and learn more about them, their skills, and what they can offer to prospective companies.

If you are in the market great talent, this is an episode you don’t want to miss!

Our first interview (1:53) is with Susie Ribnik, formerly of Leiberman Research Worldwide. Susie has over 20 years’ experience in the market research industry, in both qualitative and quantitative. We got to learn how she got started in market research, some of her skills, and what she is looking for in her next opportunity. She is a very upbeat, outgoing person, and would be an asset to any organization.

You can connect with Susie on LinkedIn here.

In our second interview (21:51), we are joined by Lincoln Merrihew. We learn about his background in environmental studies and regulations, and how it led to a career in market research. We also get into his extensive skills and perspective in market research.

Brian and Lincoln also get into a deep discussion on what could be happening to market research, and with consumers, after we emerge from the current pandemic. We talk about delayed purchases versus cancelled purchases, and how it can impact overall consumer behavior. It is a really interesting discussion!

We then switch gears with Lincoln and learn more about him, including his love of photography and running, his biggest accomplishment, and more!

You can connect with Lincoln by email at [email protected], by phone at 508-981-4848, or on LinkedIn here.

In our final interview (51:19), we are joined by Tyler Farmer a recent graduate of the Georgia MMR program. We learn how a market research class in undergrad led him to pursue a career in market research. We then talk about his background, including his previous marketing roles he was in prior to joining the MMR program. Tyler then gets into the skills he has developed through the MMR program, and how he can leverage them to help a company.

Then we switch gears and learn more about Tyler, including his love of sports and video games, his hidden talent, and that he and Brian have both gotten into watching marble racing.
