Employee Spotlight: Addie Curlis

What do you do at EMI?

My official title is Assistant Director of Client Services – in a nutshell, I am part of the Account Management sales team where we work with existing clients to provide custom solutions for their online sampling needs.

What led you to EMI?

After 8 years in the full-service market research sector, I decided I wanted a new challenge and moved to the sample side.  I enjoy using my previous experience, as well as my background in communications/journalism, here at EMI.

What is your favorite thing about EMI?

I love how we are a big family – everyone genuinely cares about everyone else here.

When you aren’t at work, you are…?

Probably at Orange Theory Fitness!  I love working out, as well as spending time with family and friends. 

Tell me one interesting fact about yourself?

I was a gymnast for 15 years and now I’m an official for the sport that I’ve always loved.

What is your favorite music band/genre/artist?

Everything except for country really.  I love Oldies, 90s grunge, alt-rock, etc.  #AltNation

What is your favorite movie?

Moulin Rouge – I love the music!

What is your favorite TV show?

Friends is my favorite show – I can quote pretty much every episode.

What are some of your hobbies?

I enjoy exercising, reading, writing, photography, listening to music, fishing, etc.

What is your perfect vacation?

Being in my family’s cabin on McGregor Bay, Ontario, relaxing!

What gets you fired up?

Anyone who knows me knows that I’m a stickler on using correct grammar.

If you could take one thing on a desert island with you, what would it be?

Peanut butter!

And finally, which of the 4 core values of EMI do you most relate to? (Agility, Accountability, Integrity, Passion)

I’d have to say Accountability is the one I most relate to – I feel a strong sense of responsibility to both our clients and my team.
